Snip
When will I be over you?
Over and under and without this hard edge
Of longing and missing and longing and missing
Just when I think
I have come up for air
Your nonchalance chokes me
And down I go
Down and around, writhing in pain
The glaring politeness
The sweetness without depth
The crotchless words dripping of nice
The obvious truth that I don't affect you
But you affect me.
I must manifest the slaying death
Of this monster love I have for you
....still...
I have stabbed it and kicked it
and. it. will. not. die.
But I am determined.
I declare that there will come a day
When I will look at you or hear from you
Or be treated like a neuter by you
And will only see
You as one of those guys
You know the kind -
pat-on-the-head-I-think-of-you-like-a-brother
kind of guys
I will neuter you, too, one day.
I promise.
How did I fall so far?
How did I fall so far?
